The best and quickest women’s studies

Lily Cat on Stuff – February 10th, 2007 – 12PM- 2PM
an interview with Trina Robbins - http://www.trinarobbins.com/

I talked to Trina Robbins about her various books and graphic novels like “Go Girl”, “Tender Murderers- Women who Kill”, “Wild Irish Roses”, Eternally Bad – Goddess with Attitude”, “ Califia, Queen of California”…

We talked about the story historical women in her books, both the good that changed society in great ways and the bad that killed those who upset them or killed to get money.

A couple of cool things we learned:

California was named for Califia -for a mythical Amazon queen!

And Hedley Lamarr - the screen siren of the 1940's invented the communication system used today in transistor radios

We also, played some Hawaiian music (Trina’s favorite) and some music by female singing sirens – Jill Tracy, Bambi Lake, and Bonifire Madigan…
